No. But in the last few years, Tottenham are fighting with this type of club. “That’s why no-one likes Tottenham much, that’s why everyone wants to challenge us. “It’s a massive game for us every time. Wolves beat us and they behaved like they won the Premier League. Then on Wednesday they lost to Crystal Palace. It’s because Tottenham have created something special — and now we are a target. “When we fought with Leicester, everyone wanted to kill us! For many people we’re not very successful because we haven’t won a trophy [but] people respect the way we’re doing it.” About the authorAnsser SadiqShare the loveHave your saylast_img read more

Alabama Signees Adonis Thomas, Damien Harris Vow To “Bring The Dynasty Back” On Twitter

first_imgA top Alabama Crimson Tide signee.Alabama football certainly is not down – the Crimson Tide were the No. 1 seed in this past year’s College Football Playoff before losing to Ohio State. But the program has gone two years without winning the national title, so it’s fair to say that Alabama is no longer a “dynasty” in the true sense of the word. Two Crimson Tide signees are looking to change that fact.Adonis Thomas and Damien Harris – two of the highest-rated recruits in the country this past year – had a nice little Twitter exchange Saturday morning. It began with Harris wishing Thomas a happy birthday, and quickly morphed into the topic of winning rings and bringing the dynasty back. Check it out:Happy Birthday boss @_SimplyThatGuy5— Damien Harris (@DHx34) February 28, [email protected] appreciate it big timer! Only a few more months till we go get these rings— Adonis Thomas (@_SimplyThatGuy5) February 28, [email protected]_SimplyThatGuy5 you already know what we about to do— Damien Harris (@DHx34) February 28, [email protected] bring that dynasty back— Adonis Thomas (@_SimplyThatGuy5) February 28, 2015Alabama never rebuilds – it reloads. Video: Mississippi State OL Rufus Warren Tried Cheerleading Today, And It Was Hilarious

first_imgMississippi State Offensive lineman attempts to hold an MS cheerleader.Rufus Warren MSU CheerleaderMississippi State offensive lineman Rufus Warren is listed at 6-foot-7, 299 pounds on the school’s website. He has to handle large, athletic SEC defensive linemen on a regular basis, but when it came time to lift up an SEC cheerleader today, Warren wasn’t sure how to handle it.Here’s the video of Warren lifting up an MSU cheerleader. He does the job, but admittedly wasn’t too steady and seemed quite happy to be put her down as soon as possible.VIDEO: We are on our way to the coliseum, but first Rufus Warren tried out to be a cheerleader. #HailState pic.twitter.com/8dej0QMc7v— MSU Football (@HailStateFB) July 16, 2015Warren will probably take some good-natured ribbing for that, but he seemed pretty comfortable laughing at himself.last_img

Tennessee JUCO Commit Jonathan Kongbo Tells Alabama, “We’re Coming For (You)”

first_imgA high end zone view of Neyland Stadium(Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)It seems fairly obvious that Tennessee JUCO signee Jonathan Kongbo has Oct. 15 circled on his calendar. That’s the day the Volunteers host the reigning national champions, Alabama, at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. Kongbo, one of the top defensive recruits in the country, previously posted a video of himself working out with a “Bama We Coming” sign in the background. Now, in an interview with Rocky Top Insider, Kongbo all but guaranteed a victory against the Crimson Tide. His response comes after being asked about the Tennessee-themed trash talk from Florida’s Jalen Tabor. On the trash talk from Florida’s Jalen Tabor:“Well I mean, I just kind of laughed at it because I know we’re going to beat Florida. I know we’re going to beat Alabama. We’re going to beat all those teams. So I’ll say right now, we’re going to beat every team we play next year. I just really laughed at it, especially the comments that Jalen made. It was funny. We’ll see what Jalen Hurd does to him though.”On his final message:“I mean, kind of the main thing is, if you want to be the best you got to beat the best. And we know Alabama won the national championship this year and the message that I’m sending to them is that ain’t no one around here scared of that. We’re coming for them. It’s football so once the pads are on, you’ve got to figure out how to win so we’ll see.”Alabama-Tennessee should be pretty, pretty fun this year.[RTI]last_img read more

The loonie had started the day lower following a speech by Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz Thursday but gained throughout the day.The higher oil price likely helped boost the loonie Thursday, said Chopra.“Certainly the strength of the oil price is playing into it. When you’re looking at explaining daily moves, it’s certainly an important factor in what’s happening today.”He said the Poloz speech did little to give any indication of whether a rate hike is coming July 11, leaving uncertainty on the decision. The August gold contract closed down $5.10 at US$1,251 an ounce and the September copper contract was down four cents at US$2.97 a pound. The August natural gas contract was down four cents at US$2.94 per mmBTU.last_img read more

Blockchain may make ecommerce cheaper fairer

first_imgSan Francisco: A Blockchain-based system that allows buyers and sellers to interact directly can make e-commerce platform for digital goods “cheat proof” and the products cheaper, says a study by India-origin researchers. Blockchains allow multiple stakeholders to transact money or data virtually over linked peer-to-peer computer networks. Besides Blockchain, their proposed solution involves “smart contracts” and game theory. “Our scheme offers potentially a big improvement over the state-of-the-art in electronic commerce because it allows buyers and sellers to interact directly with each other without the need for third-party mediators of any kind,” said Bhaskar Krishnamachari, Professor at Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California, the US. Also Read – Commercial vehicle sales to remain subdued in current fiscal: Icra “It uses a dual-deposit method, escrowing a safety deposit from both buyer and seller that is returned to them only when they behave honestly. And the verification of who is at fault and who is honest is done automatically by the smart contract,” added Krishnamachari. This “smart contract” stores a good’s digital hash code or “digital fingerprint”. Krishnamachari created an algorithm that runs on a programmable Blockchain as a “smart contract” with Aditya Asgaonkar, a recent undergraduate computer science alum at BITS Pilani Also Read – Ashok Leyland stock tanks over 5 pc as co plans to suspend production for up to 15 days Here’s how the system might work: An author wants to sell her digital book, but she hopes to avoid going through Amazon or some other company that takes a commission. Instead, she uses Asgaonkar’s and Krishnamachari’s blockchain-based solution and lists the book’s price at $20. An interested buyer contacts her. To ensure an honest deal, both the buyer and seller agree to pony up a $10 deposit through a programmable Blockchain platform. The author then sends the digital book to the buyer, who could only access it by making a verifiable payment for the correct amount. If the transaction satisfies everybody, then both parties receive their deposits back. But what if someone tries to cheat? What happens, for instance, if the seller intentionally sends the wrong e-book? What recourse does the aggrieved party have? This is where the so-called smart contract kicks in. The contract stores a good’s digital. The buyer has access to that digital hash code before making a purchase. If they receive an item with a different hash code, however, they can dispute the transaction. In this instance, the seller would forfeit their deposit after the algorithm determined that they had attempted to cheat the buyer. At present, the system works only with digital goods because physical products can’t have a cryptographic hash associated with them. However, physical goods stored in a safe-box that can be opened with a digital password could be potentially transacted using their system. Asgaonkar presented the researchers’ joint paper at the IEEE International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency in Seoul, South Korea.last_img read more

Moroccos Taliouine hosts the 7th International Festival of saffron

first_imgTaroudant- Under the theme “the Role of Inter-profession in the Development of the Saffron Sector,” the 7th International Festival of saffron kicked off Thursday in Taliouine in the province of Taroudant to celebrate the harvest of the spice of saffron, “most expensive in the world known for its therapeutic qualities.” The official delegation, consisting mainly of the Minister of Agriculture and Marine Fisheries Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, the governor of the province of Taroudant Mr. M’Hamedi Fouad, president of the Regional Council of Souss-Massa-Draa Mr. Brahim Hafidi and and parliamentarians, conducted the delivery of a large batch of agricultural equipments. In a statement to the press, Mr. Akhannouch said that the productivity of the region increased after the royal visit to the region (January 2011) from 2.5 kg to about 5.5 kg per hectare, indicating that the cultivated area has increased from 500 to 2,200 hectares fully equipped by drip irrigation system. According to the organizers, the professionalization of this event is to meet the following objectives:To develop and promote the sector of saffron into a vector of socio-economic development for the local population; To bring together the results of scientific research in the sector and share them among farmers; To contribute to the development of tourism in the region of Talouine. The festival was also an opportunity for local cooperatives to exhibit their products and artifacts.Even though saffron and saffron-based products were the dominant exhibitions, other products of the region were remarkably present mainly Argan oil, saffron flavored honey, almonds, garlic and the famous carpets of Taznakht.“The harvest season has been a tradition since our ancestors, who used to celebrate with their modest means the festivities by crowning a year of hard work by a good harvest, a festive annual event. The new generations are then asked to learn the notes from those who initiated the idea of ??organizing the saffron festival, which celebrates this year its 7th edition,” reads the official website of the festival.A lot of people, men and women alike, with their wonderful local costumes gathered in the evening to enjoy the vibrant rhythms of local music and dance, known as “Ahwash”, along with other famous artists and music bands from all over the kingdom. In addition to the atmosphere of festivity that marked the capital of saffron on this occasion, many cultural conferences, skill building workshops, sport activities and entertaining activities for children  were held in Dar Zaaafran (the house of saffron) during the four days of the festival.last_img read more

Jordan Spieths Majors Run Was One Of The Greatest In Golf History

By finishing second (to Jason Day) in the PGA Championship on Sunday, Jordan Spieth completed a remarkable run at golf’s major championships this season. He won two major tournaments (the Masters and the U.S. Open), placed second in another (the PGA), and — in his worst showing — tied for fourth at the British Open. It was the third time since 19581The year golf’s majors entered their modern era, as the PGA Championship adopted a stroke-play format. that a player finished no worse than fourth in any major during a season.Last week, my colleague Andrew Mooney used a metric called z-scores (which measure how many standard deviations a player’s score was from the mean2For all players who made the cut in a given tournament.) to examine where Spieth’s overall PGA Tour season — including both majors and the tour’s more pedestrian tournaments — ranked among other golfers’ seasons since 1970. Going into the PGA, he was on pace for the 12th-best single season in that span, and he was the top-ranked player not named Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus. (Pretty heady company!)But we can also use z-scores to measure where his cumulative performance at the majors this year ranks. The — admittedly predictable — result is that Spieth’s 2015 majors campaign stands as one of the greatest in the sport’s history. Here’s how it works: In a given tournament, a player’s performance can be converted into the probability that he would win the average major with his z-score. For example, Spieth’s -2.20 z-score at the PGA last weekend would be good enough to win about 40 percent of all majors staged since 1958. Therefore, he gets 0.40 shares of a major for the performance, even though he didn’t actually win.Of course, this methodology can add up to more than 100 percent of a victory for majors featuring multiple great performances. The famous “Duel in the Sun” between Nicklaus and Tom Watson at the 1977 British Open was so epic, for instance, that the system above awards 2.1 total “generic majors” to the field. To correct for this, we can also compute an adjusted version that isn’t allowed to assign more than 1.0 combined shares of a major to any given tournament’s field, no matter how dominant — or dubious — the performances of its leaders. (According to this adjustment, Spieth’s 2015 PGA Championship earns him just 0.18 share of a major, since the field total also needs to clear room for the performances of Day, Branden Grace and others.)Depending on which version you use, Spieth’s 2015 season either ranks fourth overall since 1958 (without the adjustment), or 11th (with the adjustment). My preference probably lies with the unadjusted version, simply because a player can’t control whether he shares the stage with another dominant performance (and z-scores already account for his score relative to the field average). But no matter the method, it’s clear once again that Spieth’s 2015 season deserves a place among golf’s most brilliant achievements. read more
