SISTER REMEMBERS BROTHER ON WORLD SUICIDE DAY WITH HEART-BREAKING POEM

first_imgThe late JJ Gallagher with sister Cathy McGuigan.A Co Donegal woman has written a heart-breaking poem about her late brother to mark World Suicide Day.Well-known Letterkenny man JJ Gallagher from Ard O’Donnell tragically took his own life in April 1998.His sister Cathy says not a day goes by that she does not think about her brother. When she woke up this morning she decided to put pen to paper to remember JJ.She said she hopes her words will help someone, somewhere who is suffering heartbreak through suicide to cope with their grief.“It’s the people who are left behind who hurt the most,” she said. These are her touching words. “It doesn’t take a special day for us to say your name, The love that we have for you will always be the same. But what if there was a way that no one else would feel that pain. That they could simply hug their loved ones Instead of looking at them in a frame. Please know that you are loved that your voice it WILL be heard. That you don’t have to do it alone, so sad and scared. What I would give to hear his laugh just to see that smiling face. For now my arms are empty no big brother to embrace. Life is indeed too short so live and laugh and love. And I’ll remember you our J.J.our Guardian Angel now above.”SISTER REMEMBERS BROTHER ON WORLD SUICIDE DAY WITH HEART-BREAKING POEM was last modified: September 11th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:donegalJJ GallagherletterkennySUICIDElast_img read more
