Pasadena Congresswoman Judy Chu Meets with Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

first_img Top of the News EVENTS & ENTERTAINMENT | FOOD & DRINK | THE ARTS | REAL ESTATE | HOME & GARDEN | WELLNESS | SOCIAL SCENE | GETAWAYS | PARENTS & KIDS Yesterday, Pasadena-area Congresswoman Judy Chu along with members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Executive Board met with former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a policy meeting on Capitol Hill.The meeting covered Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community priorities, including comprehensive immigration reform, access to higher education, racial profiling, and promoting greater diversity in the federal workforce. CAPAC Chairwoman Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27) released the following statement:“I am so glad that we had the opportunity to hold a policy meeting with former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to discuss a number of pressing policy priorities of importance to CAPAC and the broader Asian American and Pacific Islander community. As the fastest growing racial population in the country, as well as the largest wave of new immigrants to the United States, AAPIs have become an increasingly important demographic to engage with. Today’s meeting with Secretary Clinton was a positive first step in that direction, and we look forward to continuing to dialogue with Secretary Clinton on these issues moving forward.”The Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) is comprised of Members of Congress of Asian and Pacific Islander descent and Members who have a strong dedication to promoting the well-being of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
