That happens this morning at 9:30am. first_imgNorth Park hit-and-run hospitalizes pedestrian Categories: Local San Diego News FacebookTwitter KUSI Newsroom, Updated: 12:40 PM SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 30-year-old man in the North Park community of San Diego suffered non-life threatening injuries Sunday when he was struck by a hit-and-run motorist who abandoned his vehicle, police said.The pedestrian was walking southbound in the 3800 block of 30th Street at about 1:30 a.m. when he saw a motorist driving without headlights on, San Diego Police Officer John Buttle said.“The victim and suspect exchanged words and the victim continued walking southbound,” Buttle said.As the pedestrian got to the intersection of North Park Way and 30th Street and was crossing the street, the motorist allegedly drove toward the man and hit him, continuing southbound in the 3700 block of 30th Street, he said.Paramedics rushed the victim to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and police found the motorist’s vehicle unoccupied in the 4000 block of Meade Avenue, Buttle said. center_img Posted: May 27, 2018 May 27, 2018 KUSI Newsroom last_img read more

MSU researchers create a new engine prototype w video

first_img(PhysOrg.com) — Researchers at Michigan State University have built a prototype, based on the research first released in 2009, of the Wave Disk Generator — an engine that does not have pistons, crankshafts or valves. This new model, which does away with the internal combustion engine of the past, has the potential to reduce auto emissions up to 90 percent, when compared to the current emissions level. This is because the engine uses roughly 60 percent of its fuel for propulsion, when you compare this to the typical cars engine that uses only 15 percent of fuel for propulsion, we can see how the increase is possible. The fuel and air enter and mix through the central inlets. The rotor then spins, blocking the exit of gasses. As the pressure builds it will generate a shock wave that will compress the mixture.
