first_imgKolkata, Apr 14 (PTI) BJP today said the notice issued by the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee seeking explanation from five Trinamool Congress MPs who were allegedly caught in a sting operation accepting money last month, has shattered the tall claims of honesty by TMC.”The TMC initially had claimed these videos are doctored to malign them. But, the tall claims of honesty by TMC has been shattered by the notice of the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee,” BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh told reporters here.Singh also refuted allegations of “match fixing” between BJP and TMC by stating that the notice itself proves there has been no such thing.”Earlier, it was alleged that there has been a match fixing between BJP and TMC and that is why the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee is yet to serve a notice.”Now the notice has been served, but it has brought out the match fixing between Congress, TMC and CPI(M), as both Congress and CPI(M), which have a majority in Rajya Sabha, stopped the matter to be sent to the Rajya Sabha Ethics Committee. The Congress and the CPI(M) helped TMC in Rajya Sabha,” Singh alleged. The Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha has sought explanation from five TMC MPs who were allegedly caught in a sting operation accepting money last month. In the sting video done by web portal Narada News, five TMC members from the Lok Sabha – Saugata Roy, Sultan Ahmad, Suvendu Adhikari, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Prasoon Banerjee, and Mukul Roy from the Rajya Sabha – were shown allegedly accepting money from people representing a fictitious firm.
