Madrid Hails Close Cooperation With Rabat in Fighting Terrorism

Madrid –  Spain on Thursday hailed the “close cooperation” between Moroccan and Spanish security services in fighting terrorism, following Morocco’s dismantling of a recruitment ISIS cell to fight in Syria and Iraq. This operation confirms “the close collaboration between Spanish and Moroccan security services in fighting terrorism”, the Spanish Interior Ministry said in a statement.The ministry also welcomed the cooperation between the security departments of the two countries in the investigations into terrorist networks. The Moroccan Interior Ministry announced on Thursday the dismantling of a nine-person cell recruiting volunteers to fight with the radical Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Syria and Iraq.Investigations into the cell, based in the cities of Fez, Tetouan and Fnideq, was carried out in cooperation with Spanish authorities.
