Twomonthold girl shot dead in Pennsylvania

first_imgPOLICE IN THE US have identified a baby girl who was shot dead in a house in Pennsylvania on Christmas Eve.Officers in East Lampeter Township named the infant as Kestyn Davies. She died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, reports local, online media.A team of investigators believe the child was shot by a family member just after 2pm on Tuesday. They were the only two people in the house at the time. They said they know – but will not reveal – the identity of the shooter. However, county district attorney Craig Stedman confirmed the weapon used was a handgun, and not a BB gun as was previously speculated.Although coroner Dr. Steven Diamantoni classified the death as a homicide, he explained that doesn’t necessarily indicate criminal actions.“It simply means the death of one human being was the result of the actions of another,” he said, according to Lancaster Online. It is not yet known if charges will be filed in the case.Ireland: Man arrested in connection with fatal stabbing in ShankillMore: Garda taken to hospital after Dublin house fireRoads: Another Christmas tragedy on Irish roads as woman dies in Offaly car crashlast_img
