Watch the First Trailer for Marvels Black Panther

first_img In what seems like a scam to get comics geeks to watch sports with the other kids, Marvel debuted the first trailer for Black Panther during Game Four of the NBA Finals. While everyone else tuned in to see the Warriors could sweep the Cavaliers, Marvel fans were just waiting for a first glimpse of T’Challa’s solo flick. They made us wait a bit, but there it was. Finally, we saw footage from Black Panther. Yeah, that was pretty cool. Definitely worth watching the same two teams play against each other for the third year in a row. Black Panther’s debut was easily one of the most exciting parts of Captain America: Civil War. (Spider-Man was cool too, but Black Panther has the advantage of being essential to the plot.) After seeing him in action in someone else’s movie, pretty much everyone wanted to see him star in his own. Now we know what that looks like, and we can’t wait to go to Wakanda. Plus, director Ryan Coogler’s track record has been pretty sterling so far.Leading up to the trailer, Marvel also debuted the poster for the movie that looks nearly as cool. It’s just T’Challa sitting on his throne in full costume, minus the mask. It’s Black Panther at his most badass, and that’s saying something. The poster also gives us a good look at the inside of the Wakandan palace. I wouldn’t mind spending a decent chunk of the movie in here.(Via Marvel)Black Panther will feature T’Challa returning to Wakanda to assume the throne after the murder of his father. A synopsis Marvel put out says an old enemy will reappear to challenge T’Challa’s authority, drawing him into a conflict that will put his entire country at risk. We’ll learn exactly what that means when Black Panther premieres on February 16, 2018.
